Simple Solar Food Dryer
I've been interested in making a solar dryer for some time. And I finally got around to it. The glass is the most expensive item, but thankfully my friend Rhett gave me the glass from his shower door. The frame is 2x4 doug fir with 1.5x1.5 glass frame. Maximum observed temperature inside is 180F. Normal inside temp is ambient plus eighty degrees. Door is hinged and can be propped up if excess moisture is present.

Items dried so far: prunes, figs, asian pears, tomatoes, concord grape nectar (leather), serrano chilis.
